About Camille's Dream
My American Dream represents how I want to be successful in life. I want my American Dream to include success, love, ambition, spirituality, freedom, action and achievement, mobility, equality and individualism. We grow up in a society where everything is easy for some and harder for others. Where having things thrown at us as individuals is normal. But I don't see that as a future I want to set my life to proceed in. I believe in the struggle; to work hard for the things that you want to overcome and achieve. I like to have the mindset of independence and being a goal digger. I am a very determined person, if I set a goal for something , I will try my best to achieve it. I know that there will be obstacles, down falls and mistakes in the long run but I take that as a sign to do better, to improve whatever it is that I set myself in doing in the future. I do not accept failure, I will do everything that I can to keep the promises to myself as a little girl, to my grandmother and parents; I will not fail them. I am determined to make them proud. That and to change letting all the negative remarks being thrown at me growing up in the commercialism and materialism society where being cute was one image. It took me a while to love myself, I wanted to have that image of looking like a size zero barbie, now I find it unrealistic and pure nonsense. I love myself more than ever and I have come to realize that God put me onto this Earth as who I am for a reason. I will work hard for what I want, strive to build and be prepared for whatever life has in stored for me. This is my American Dream.
